Author(s): Paul J. Farley
Year: 1982
Summary
This is an administrative report concerning the Archaeological Contractor's operation of the Field Laboratory for the reporting year March 1, 1979, through February 29, 1980. The first section, arranged according to four temporal periods, outlines the broad emphases of the work of the laboratory processing crew through the reporting year. This section also includes the major concerns of the contractor's laboratory supervisor and the assistant laboratory supervisor, excerpted from the monthly progress reports completed by the contractor's laboratory supervisor.
A second section deals with laboratory responsibilities in addition to the day-to-day handling and processing of materials and samples, including submission of samples to outside laboratories for analysis, personnel changes, and a summation of materials and samples collected. Following is an outline presentation of the Laboratory Flow System in its three parts: materials and samples; field forms, notes, and maps; and preliminary analysis forms.
The closing section of the report outlines concerns which have been slated for act i on during the subsequent reporting year. These will form the basis for management of the Processing Section of the Archaeological Field Laboratory.
Originally the information in this record was migrated into tDAR from the National Archaeological Database Reports Module (NADB-R) and updated. In 2015, as part of its effort to improve tDAR content, the Center for Digital Antiquity uploaded a copy of the document and further improved the record metadata.
