Summary

This document represents the End of Field Report submitted to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources-Historic Preservation Division relative to archaeological excavations conducted at a late prehistoric shell midden located at archaeological site 9CH199 on Ossabaw Island, Georgia, a Georgia Natural and Cultural Heritage Area. Dr. Charles E. Pearson directed the archaeological research at the site under approval and authority of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. The fieldwork at the site was conducted by a four-person team between May 23 and May 28, 2005. These individuals were: Charles Pearson, Fred Cook, Carolyn Rock and Jared Wood. This End of Field Report provides basic information on the site examined, the research objectives of the study, the conduct of the field investigations and preliminary findings.
