Part of the Archaeology Field Survey Reports Contributed by BLM, Arcata, CA Field Office project
Year: 2003
Summary
This report presents the results of a literature review and archaeological field survey conducted by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in support of the County of Humboldt's proposal to realign a portion of Centerville Road. The county has applied for funding for the proposed project through FEMA's Public Assistance Program. The funding is available under a Presidential disaster declaration (FEMA-1203-DR-CA) for the severe storms and flooding that affected Humboldt County in the spring of 1998. FEMA's archaeological consultant conducted a cultural resources inventory of the lands encompassed by the project components on April 17, 2003. The survey consisted of an intensive pedestrian survey with 10 to15 meter transect intervals. The survey was negative for cultural resources.
