Summary
Six sediments were selected for an exploratory analysis from 41GV53B in
Galveston County, Texas. This site is a large shell midden located on the
south bank of Clear Creek. Exploratory pollen analysis was undertaken in an
effort to define pollen preservation and potential for contribution to
paleoenvironmental interpretation at this site. These samples are inter
preted for their potential to contribute to future paleoenvironmental inter
pretations and recommendations are made concerning further sampling.
