Summary

Macrofloral Analysis from the SAWS Project, New Mexico:

Analysis of charred remains from these features focused on recovery of interpretable evidence of subsistence activities.

Macrofloral and Charcoal Analysis at LA 75160 near Roswell, New Mexico:

Site LA 75160 is located ijnmediately adjacent to and east of Kenna Draw. It is situated on a sandy hummock sloping into a man-made drainage between the railroad bed and the hummock. Three features were examined for macrofloral remains and charcoal. In addition, charcoal individually picked from backhoe trenches and Feature 1 was identified. These studies were undertaken to identify elements of the past environment, as well as probable subsistence items processed at this site. Charcoal recovered from features probably reflects fuel used by the occupants of the site.
