MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS FROM SITE 42UN1773, DINOSAUR NATIONAL MONUMENT, UTAH

Summary

Feature 4 front the floor of a pithouse at Site 42UN1773 was sampled for

macrofloral remains. Fremont Uintah gray ceramics were found, indicating

definite Fremont occupation of this site. A shell bead was found underneath a

prepared floor that overlaid the feature, implying occupation after cleaning the

pithouse out. Macrofloral analysis is used to address subsistence activities at

this site.
