POLLEN ANALYSIS OF STRATIGRAPHIC SEDIMENTS FROM GLOVER'S POND, NEW JERSEY

Summary

Pollen samples were removed from selected depths from a core collected at Glover's

Pond in northwestern New Jersey. Ihe pollen record representing

stratigraphic sediments extends in depth over one meter below a radiocarbon age

of 11,430 + 410 BP to an estimated 14,720 BP. Examination of the pollen record

from Glover's Pond includes a record from the Pleistocene, as well as transition

from the Pleistocene to the Hblocene, and contiraring until nearly the present.

Changes in the local vegetation are dramatic, particularly near the dated level

of 11,430 BP.
