Summary
Six stratigraphic pollen samples were examined from a continuous core
recovered from the upper Maunawili Valley. The location cored is situated just
upstream from a stone-faced retaining wall thought to contain a series of
alluvial deposits dating to pre-contact. Pollen analysis was undertaken to
define the vegetation in this area during the prehistoric period.
