Summary
Samples from site 48LN1185 were sampled for pollen and macrofloral remains.
This site is a multi<x>mpanent site located in the Wyoming Basin in southwestern
Wyoming. Radiocarbon dates suggest Early Archaic to Late Prehistoric
ocxxpatians, approximately 6760 to 910 BP. Three pollen surface control samples
were taken from locations surrounding the excavation area. Five samples were
taken from a soil column in the west wall of the pipeline trench. Pollen
analysis of these samples will provide information to assist in recxmsrtructing
the paleoenvironment. A metate fragment was also washed for pollen. Pollen
analysis of this wash and macrofloral analysis of the twelve flotation samples
taken from features address subsistence activities at this site.
