Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings

Year: 1991

Summary

Five pollen samples were analyzed from 5MT10212, an historic site on

the Ute Mountain Towaoc Canal Reach III project. Four structures, three

associated features, and an artifact scatter were situated on the first

bench or terrace overlooking Mariano Wash to the south. This site appears

to represent a temporary or seasonally occupied Navajo or Ute camp from the

1930s to 1940s. Pollen samples were examined to attempt to provide informa

tion concerning possible economic activities at the site.
