Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; Kathryn Puseman

Year: 1992

Summary

Fibers associated with an infant skeleton on a wooden cradleboard were

examined to determine the type of fiber used in making the cordage found on the

cradleboard. Fibers were also examined from a ring under the infant's head to

verify that juniper bark was used to construct the ring. Wood from various

pieces of the cradleboard was examined microscopically to identify the wood used

in its construction.
