STRATIGRAPHIC POLLEN ANALYSIS AT SITE 48TE414, GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, WYOMING

Summary

Four pollen sanples were examined from Test Unit 6 at 48TE414. Diagnostic

projectile points recovered at this site range in age from middle Archaic through

late Prehistoric. Test Unit 6 was the deepest unit at this site and a Pelican

Lake (late Archaic) projectile point was recovered from the bottom of this unit,

providing a maximum date of approximately 3000 BP. Pollen analysis was

undertaken to examine the stability of the environment represented by the

depositional sequence in Test Unit 6.
