POLLEN ANALYSIS OF TWO SAMPLES FROM A POSSIBLE AGRICULTURAL FIELD AT THE GILA BUTTE SITE (AZ U:13:8 [ASM]) , ARIZONA

Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings

Year: 1993

Summary

Two pollen samples were examined from testing at the Gila Butte site (AZ

U:13:8 [ASM]) . These samples represent a clay-loam A horizon suspected to have

been used prehistorically as an agricultural field. This possible field was

located to the north of the habitation locus at the large ball court: village.

Pollen analysis was undertaken in an effort to recover evidence of agriculture

in this area.
