MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES FROM THE DUTCH CREEK SITE (5JF463) , COLORADO

Author(s): Kathryn Puseman

Year: 1993

Summary

Proposed construction of a bike path bridge over Dutch Creek resulted in

Test pit excavations of the impacted areas at Site 5JF463. This site is a

prehistoric campsite containing at least three cultural components located near

Denver, Colorado. The 1992 test pit excavations yielded cultural deposits dating

to approximately 4210 BP, suggesting a Middle Archaic occupation. Feature fill

from Test pits 1 and 2 was sampled for macrofloral remains to provide possible

subsistence information.
