Summary

A single soil sanple was removed from a trench excavation near the edge of

the Great Circle in Moundbuilders State Memorial, Newark, Ohio. The sample was

examined for both pollen and phytoliths to identify local native vegetation prior

to construction of the Great Circle by the Hopewell Moundbuilders.
