Summary

Samples from hearth fill at Sites 48SU1386 and 48SU1499 in western Wyoming

were examined for macrofloral remains. Site 48SU1389 is a multicomponent site,

while 48SU1499 is smaller and is believed to have had an increased emphasis on

animal processing. The hearths were recovered in pipeline trenches at the sites.

Macrofloral analysis is used to address possible subsistence activities at these

sites.
