Summary

Fill from a hearth associated with a small, jacal Anasazi surface structure

at Site 42SA22502 was sampled for pollen and macrofloral remains. Charcoal from the hearth fill is believed to represent the last use of the hearth around AD

540, about the time of the Basketmaker II to Basketmaker III transition. Pollen

and macrofloral analyses are used to determine plants processed in this hearth.
