Summary
Four pollen samples were taken in connection with the archaeological
monitoring of a well pad on Black Mesa in San Juan County, Utah. The
site (42SA 10685) was located at an elevation of 5560 feet and consisted of
a hearth and a shallow basin metate. Three of these samples represent
the stratigraphic sampling of the hearth, while the fourth was taken from
the present ground surface.
