Author(s): lInda J. Scott; PaleoResearch Institute

Year: 1986

Summary

Three pollen and two flotation samples were collected during testing

operations at LA 46358 located in Sandoval County, New Mexico. The site is

believed to date to the Basketmaker II/Pueblo I transition. A single use or

activity surface was revealed 15 to 20 cm below the present ground surface.

This area contained a single pit hearth. The pollen and macrofloral samples

were collected at the site to provide evidence concerning the subsistence

resources used, processing techniques used in food preparation, season of

site occupation, and to note any changes in the vegetative environment

betwen the period of occupation and present.
