Summary
One hearth at 32NZ721, a stone circle site, was sampled for pollen and
macrofloral remains in conjunction with archaeological mitigation. This
site is located southwestern North Dakota and consists of 55 stone circle
features. Pollen and macrofloral analyses of this single hearth were undertaken
as a feasibility study to determine whether or not these types of
analyses would shed light on the paleoenvironment and subsistence at the
site.
