POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK, 1987 FIELD SEASON
Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; PaleoResearch Institute
Year: 1987
Summary
Several stratigraphic profiles from UW Trenches 5 and 7 were sampled
for pollen during the 1987 field season. Pollen was analyzed from several
of the strata to provide paleoenvironmental information from the late
Pleistocene through the Holocene to the present. In addition, both pollen
and macrofloral samples were collected from features at five of the
archaeological sites excavated in the 1987 field season. This analysis was
geared toward the identification of subsistence activities at these sites.
