Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; PaleoResearch Institute
Year: 1988
Summary
Three pollen and two phytolith samples were selected for analysis from
Agat and Agana swamps on Guam. Identification of local vegetation and
evidence of cultivation was sought from these data bases. In addition,
single pollen and phytolith samples were collected for analysis from an
earth-oven deposit in Tumon, Guam. Identification of the use of the oven,
which contained burned coral chunks and prehistoric pottery, was sought
through various analyses.
