POLLEN, PHYTOLITH, AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT BODE'S DRAW COLORADO
Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; PaleoResearch Institute
Year: 1989
Summary
Four pieces of groundstone were washes for their pollen and phytolith
content from the Bode's Draw site. Pollen and phytoliths were analyzed from
these pieces of groundstone in an effort to determine what vegetal resources
were processed with these tools. In addition, fill from two roasting
features, termed ovens, was floated to recover charred macrofloral remains
to assist in identifying subsistence activities at this site. Charcoal from
these features, as well as a buried piece of wood from Sunnybitch Cirque was
also identified.
