POLLEN, MACROFLORAL, AND PROTEIN RESIDUE ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES FROM CA-LAN-1702, EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; Kathryn Puseman
Year: 1995
Summary
Samples from two test units at Site CA-LAN-1702 in Edwards Air Force Base,
southern California, were examined for pollen, macrofloral remains, and/or
possible protein residues. This site contained an unusually large amount of
burned bones, a possible milling stone, and lithic artifacts. Pollen and
macrofloral analyses are used to provide information concerning plant resources
utilized by the occupants of this site. Protein residue analysis of soil from
an organic layer will be examined for possible plant and animal proteins.
