Summary
Eight sediment samples were collected stratigraphically from an excavation
unit at the Eagle Creek Site (24PA301) near Gardiner, Montana. This
multicomponent site yielded radiocarbon ages of 570 + 60 BP and 530 + 60 BP from
the occupation levels near the base of this stratigraphic profile. Pollen and
phytolith analyses were undertaken to describe the prehistoric and historic
vegetation at the Eagle Creek Site for the past approximately 600 years.
