POLLEN AND PHYTOLITH ANALYSIS AT SITES 50T534 AND 50T535, BENT'S OLD FORT NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE, COLORADO
Author(s): Thomas E. Moutoux; Linda Scott Cummings
Year: 1996
Summary
Four pollen and four phytolith samples were examined from sites 5CT534 and
5CT535, located approximately seven miles east of La Junta, Colorado and within
Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site. Pollen and phytolith analyses focused
on a single feature from each site, believed to represent Late Prehistoric
(Ceramic) occupation. Pollen and phytolith analyses were undertaken to identify
vegetal elements of the subsistence base at the two sites.
