Summary
Five bulk soil samples were recovered from organic rich floodplain deposits of the
Humboldt River near Battle Mountain, Nevada. These soils were were previously dated in bulk
fashion. The samples were floated to recover any organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon
dating. Botanic components in the samples were identified, and potentially radiocarbon datable
material was separated.
