POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT 42CB1354, CENTRAL UTAH
Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; Curtis Nepstad-Thornberry
Year: 2000
Summary
A total of four soil samples from site 42CB1354 in east-central Utah were submitted for
pollen and macrofloral analysis. The samples were recovered in and adjacent to a prehistoric
hearth that was exposed during pipeline construction. Radiocarbon dates indicate the site was
occupied between A.D. 400 and 600. Pollen and macrofloral analysis of the samples will provide
a clearer understanding of plant resources available to and utilized by occupants at the site.
