POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS FROM 42SA24335, UTAH

Summary
Site 42SA24335 is situated in the Behind-the-rocks area, approximately 10 miles west of
Moab, Utah. Five slab-lined cists with ash-stained fill and a circular area of ash-stained soil are the
only features recovered at this site. Feature 1 yielded a two sigma calibrated radiocarbon age of
6500 to 6320 BP. Three pollen and six macrofloral samples were examined from 42SA24335.
Pollen and macrobotanical analyses were undertaken to identify plant resources that were available
to and utilized by occupants of the site.
