POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AT SITE 42TO137, MOSQUITO WILLIE, UTAH
Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; Kathryn Puseman; R.A. Varney
Year: 2003
Summary
Samples from Mosquito Willie (42To137), located in a cold desert shrub community on the
west side of the Great Salt Lake Desert approximately 15 miles south of Wendover, Utah, were
examined for pollen, macrofloral remains, or charcoal to identify plants that were processed and/or
used by occupants of this site. Springs east of the site provide riparian resources not available in
the more xeric desert shrub community in which the site is located. Pollen, macrofloral, and
charcoal analyses examine material from cultural levels at various areas within the site.
