Summary
Fill from a slab-lined hearth at site 24CB1861 in southern Montana was examined for
pollen and macrofloral remains. Fremont pottery was found on the site surface, and Rose
Spring projectile points were found associated with the hearth. The feature yielded a
conventional radiocarbon age of 1270 ± 70 BP. Pollen and macrofloral analyses are used to
provide information concerning plant resources available to and utilized by the site occupants.
