POLLEN ANALYSIS FOR SITES IN THE LAS VEGAS WASH, NEVADA
Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; R.A. Varney
Year: 2006
Summary
Ten samples were examined for starch and pollen from nine archaeological sites in the
Las Vegas Wash of southern Nevada. These samples represent features of cleared areas in
desert pavement. Pollen and starch analysis was conducted in an effort to determine whether
these cleared areas were cultural or natural. If they were cultural areas, raw foodstuffs might
have been placed or perhaps stored in these locations.
