Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; R.A. Varney

Year: 2007

Summary

Two small samples from Ditch Creek were examined for datable carbon. Sample 40

yielded sufficient Alnus charcoal to date, but sample 35 exhibited no charcoal large enough to

date. Therefore, an extraction of microscopic charcoal (micro-charcoal) was conducted to

obtain a sample of sufficient size to date.
