Summary
Sediment samples with charcoal were recovered from a terrace along the Sacramento
River, about three miles downstream of Shasta Dam in northern California. These samples
were examined for the presence of charcoal or other organic fragments suitable for radiocarbon
analysis. Two AMS radiocarbon dates were obtained.
