Summary

Samples from the fill of a large hearth in a large pit house (Structure 1), and from a pit

house floor (Structure 2) at site AZ B:16:105 in northern Arizona, were submitted for preliminary

macrofloral, botanic, and organic residue (FTIR) analyses. Pollen analysis also was conducted

on samples from the pit house floor. This site represents a pit house occupation during the AD

1060s. Preliminary pollen, macrofloral, botanic, and FTIR analyses will be used to identify

economic activity at this site. Additional samples for analysis and comparison are expected at a

later date.
