Summary

Samples from sites FB5042, FB5044, FB17153, and FB17155 in the Fort Bliss Military

Reservation project area were examined for pollen, phytoliths, and organic residues, the latter

using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Pollen and phytolith analyses will be

used to provide subsistence information concerning plant resources utilized, while FTIR

analysis identifies both plants and animals that were processed or used.
