RADIOCARBON DATING AND POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS OF SAMPLES FROM A ROCKSHELTER (10CK7454) IN SOUTHERN NEVADA
Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings; Elizabeth Hickey; Kathryn Puseman
Year: 2008
Summary
Site 26CK7454, a rockshelter, is located near Boulder City, Nevada. Excavation yielded
sixteen levels, many of which were sampled to recover pollen and macrofloral remains, as well
as charcoal for AMS radiocarbon dating. The non-feature pollen and macrofloral samples were
collected to represent column samples to obtain a record of the vegetation through time. Ten
AMS radiocarbon dates were obtained to better understand the deposition within this
rockshelter.
