POLLEN AND MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS FOR SAMPLES FROM SITES 41MV318 AND 41MV319 IN THE DOS REPUBLICAS PROJECT AREA, TEXAS
Author(s): Kathryn Puseman; Linda Scott Cummings
Year: 2011
Summary
Samples from the fill of three concentrations of burned rock and soil interpreted as hearths from sites 32MV318 and 32MV319 were examined for pollen and macrofloral remains. These sites are located in the Dos Republicas project area near Elm Creek, a tributary to the Rio Grande River, in southern Texas. Radiocarbon dates from these three features reflect Middle and Late Archaic occupations. Pollen and macrofloral analyses will be used to provide information concerning plant resources utilized by the occupants of these sites.
