Author(s): Linda Scott Cummings
One hundred pollen samples were analyzed from 10 sites on the Pine Creek Project. Pollen analysis was undertaken to provide information on the subsistence base, as well as subsistence activities. Pollen samples were examined from a variety of features, including roasting pits, shallow pits, hearths, inhumations, cremations, extramural activity areas, house floors, rock alignments, trash deposits, rockpiles, and ground stone. Identification of processing activities involving both agricultural and native plants was sought.
