Summary
Investigations at 49 separate field locations in the City of Beloit recovered evidence of 29 archaeological sites (26 pre-contact and three historic). Of the 29 sites, 15 had been previously reported, 11 were newly identified, and three were documented on the basis of collections that had not been previously catalogued or analyzed. Site types identified include mounds as well as habitation sites. Diagnostic material includes Archaic, Woodland, and Historic artifacts.
