Notes
General Note: "S&ME has completed a Phase I archaeological survey of approximately 44 acres at the Sage Mill/Pine Tree Tract Project Hercules in Aiken County (Figures 1 and 2). As a result of these investigations, one new archaeological site, 38AK1012, was recorded. Site 38AK1012 is a Late Archaic Period (ca. 5000–3000 B.P.) lithic scatter located in the northwestern portion of Area E. The site is recommended ineligible for inclusion in the NRHP. There are no other cultural resources within the project area or surrounding Area of Potential Effects. Based on these results, it is S&ME’s recommendations that no historic properties will be affected by the proposed undertaking and that no additional cultural resource investigations should be necessary in Area E."
