Summary

A column sample representing a 20x20x20 cm area within an intact A horizon was collected from site CA-SBA-3746 at Mt. Calvary at St. Mary’s, Santa Barbara County, California. The site is situated on a knoll approximately 100 meters north of the Santa Barbara Mission and south of Mission Creek. Materials present in the sample may represent the historic occupation of the mission and potentially an earlier prehistoric component. Macrofloral analysis of the column sample identifies plants present and available to inhabitants of the site for subsistence.
