MACROFLORAL ANALYSIS AND AMS RADIOCARBON AGE DETERMINATION OF HEARTH FILL FROM SITE 48CO3688, LOCALITY 7608-5, CONVERSE COUNTY, WYOMING
Author(s): Peter Kováčik
Year: 2015
Summary
Site 48CO3688 lies on the crest of a broad ridge in Converse County, Wyoming. A surface hearth contained fire-affected rock and one flake. No tools or diagnostic artifacts were associated with this site (John Greer, personal communication July 23, 2015). Feature fill from soil probes was submitted for macrofloral and AMS radiocarbon analysis to ascertain the period of occupation. Charcoal from this locality is expected to date between 2500 and 800 BP (John Greer, personal communication July 23, 2015).
