1995-02-06, Letter from Steven L. DeVore to Jack Siegel, Request for Funds for Additional Testing on Site 41BX1065, Archaeological Survey of Lackland and Laughlin Air Force Bases, Texas, Signed
Author(s): Steven De Vore
Year: 1995
Summary
The Contractor, Dr. Robert Hard (The University of Texas-San Antonio), has submitted a proposed cost for additional testing of Site 41BX1065, located in the proposed Housing Expansion adjacent to the Wherry Housing area of Lackland Air Force Base. Since the base is planning on construction in this area and based on the survey of the area by The University of Texas-San Antonio it is important that an intensive survey of Site 41BX1065 be conducted in order to assess its National Register of Historic Places eligibility. UTSA proposes to conduct a program of excavation of 5 to 10, 1x1 meter units in the central and eastern portions of the site, and the use of a backhoe to excavate between 1 and 3 trenches to assess the geomorphology and the potential for buried deposits.
