An Archaeological Curation-Needs Assessment of Military Installations in Selected Eastern States, Volume 2

Summary

Between May 1997 and September 1999 personnel from the U.S. Army Engineer District, St. Louis conducted curation needs assessments at all active military installations in Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Over 6,000 ft3 of artifacts and over 600 linear feet of associated documentation from archaeological projects conducted on these installations were examined during the course of fieldwork. This research was sponsored by the Department of Defense and was coordinated through the office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Environmental Security.
