J. Whittaker: Composite bow info [poorly written] on manufacture and tests. Penetration studies using different points against Roman scutum shield (plywood construction with leather) and Persian shield (cane with leather): long oval points best, would break structure of shield after a few hits and cause wounds, bodkins next, 3-bladed did not penetrate well.
