Finding Aid, Rockport Site 1980

Part of the Rockport Site 1980 project

Author(s): Sean Box

Summary

This collection referred to as "Rockport Site 1980.” This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, the file folders, and the box labels. The extent of this collection is two linear inches.

The Rockport Site 1980 came in one acidic brown accordion folder in an acidic box with documentation from other Rockport Generating Station archaeological investigations. The overall condition of the report was fair but needed much cleaning and repairs. Dirt smudges were erased, while tape was removed and replaced with acid free tape. Several torn pages were mended. The accession number for the Rockport Site 1980 is 1445. The principle investigators of this investigation were Albert H. Brine and John T. Dorwin.

Ten oversized maps were removed from the background records. Three had been taped because of tears and all ten needed to be cleaned. The maps were placed in order by level beginning with level 100 and ending at level 700.

There were eighteen photographic materials in this collection: ten negatives, three slides, and five prints. Each photograph was cleaned with Pec-12 and placed into polypropylene sleeves.
