Summary

Joint Base San Antonio is composed of military installations in San Antonio, Texas, otherwise known as Fort Sam Houston that includes Camp Bullis, Lackland Air Force Base, Kelly Field Annex, and Randolph Air Force Base. The U.S. Air Force manages historic properties on these geographically separated installations and the historic properties under the Air Force’s management vary widely in their significance, integrity, and potential for continuing use and reuse.

The Air Force has elected to fulfill its obligations under Section 106 through execution and implementation of this Programmatic Agreement. The purpose of this agreement is to ensure that historic properties on JBSA are appropriately recognized and considered in the course of the Air Force’s management and use of these historic properties.

Attachments to this programmatic agreement include correspondence concerning project review under section 106 for the lease of buildings 1000, 2371, and 2372 at Fort Sam Houston, a programmatic agreement concerning privatization of military family housing at Randolph Air Force Base, and a detail of the Secretary of the Interior’s professional qualification standards.
