Letter from Texas Historical Commission to Fort Sam Houston Directorate of Public Works, CTA New Minimum Survey Standards, Fort Sam Houston, Texas

Author(s): James E. Bruseth

Year: 1998

Summary

At the Spring Meeting of the Council of Texas Archeologists (CTA) in April 1998, the Archeology Division announced that it would begin implementing the new minimum survey standards it developed in consultation with the CTA on a one-year trial basis. The standards apply to small projects of 200 acres or less, and are now being sent to project sponsors so that they will know what to expect when seeking archeological services.

The Texas Historical Commission writes to request that the Federal Agency assist them by accepting these standards and referencing them in scopes-of work for any projects under 200 acres in extent.
