Summary

This collection is referred to as "Richard B. Russell Parks Survey 1984-1985.” This name is consistent throughout the finding aid, the file folders, and the box labels. The extent of this collection is one and a half (1.5) linear inches.

The documents date from 1984 to 1988. The investigation occurred primarily from 1984 to 1985, which explains the date of the project name. The range of dates includes further fieldwork and analysis information. This collection consists of field and analysis records, and no final report from the investigation was present with the collection. The documents were originally housed in acidic file folders and the documents were generally lacking a discernible order. The documents were originally housed in an acidic cardboard box with other collections from the Richard B. Russell Multiple Resource Area. The majority of the documents were in good condition, with the exception of a site record form that contained a tear, which had originally been covered with acidic tape. The tape was removed and the tear was covered with a piece of acid-free tissue mending tape.

The collection contained two oversized maps from the investigation area that required flattening and smoothing. The documents were placed in the oversized storage. The collection contained various photographic records from the field and analysis records. The materials included photographic negatives, prints, and cover sheets. The photographs were assigned to respective folders and the materials were removed for permanent storage in an archival binder.
